Tri to Beat Cancer

Athens is known for the University of Georgia Bulldawgs , REM, and B52’s,
but now we are also known for Triathlons.
Competitor magazine recently named Athens as one of the
top ten cities for a Triathlon, and now we know why!
The event took place on Sunday,  August 21, 2011,
a few miles from downtown Athens at Sandy Creek Park.
Starting with a swim in the beautiful Lake Champion,
followed by a scenic 15 mile bike route through Jackson County,
and ending with a 5K leading straight to the finish line,
the race was a huge success!
With 730 racers and over 120 volunteers, we raised over $102,000!

Water Polo Tournament

Our Water Polo Tournament was hosted by David and Becky Lockman on July 23rd, 2011.
The event was fun for both our participants and spectators!

Children were able to come and play field games, win prizes,
jump on a trampoline, and play in the pool!

Thanks so much to all our volunteers and players!
The tournament raised $2663 for local cancer patients!

Dog Days of Summer

Thank you to Northeast Georgia Cancer Care for all of the
hard work put into making "Dog Days of Summer" a success.
The hot dog sales raised $735 for the Cancer Foundation of Northeast Georgia.
