Testimonials

Being diagnosed with cancer is a difficult time in someone’s life.  But if you add to that the loss of income because you can not work that was further compounded by the poor economy and the sudden lay off in my husband’s field and loss of that income and our insurance, it can be devastating. The  Foundation went right to work to help get us funds to pay many of our basic needs the first month in this hard time. Being a couple who worked and raised six children and never had to seek outside help this could have been a humiliating or embarrassing time but these people were so good at what they do, were made to feel comfortable with the process.
Thank you Cancer  Foundation  of Northeast Georgia for helping us come a step closer to maintaining our independence during a crisis.
Sincerely,

Linda and Donnie Welch

I am on 60% disability and my husband is in school. Our budget is really tight. My mom was helping with the bills, but they just couldn’t get paid. We are living off pennies and the companies were threatening to turn everything off and it was just one thing after the next. My husband and I put off getting help because we don’t like to ask for help and we thought it was going to be a long involved process with credit reports, bills from the last six months, birth certificates and everything, but it was not like that. The foundation helped us immediately and the application was easy to understand. It took such a load off our minds. It helped us a great deal. I don’t know what we would’ve done without it!

I was diagnosed with colon cancer and received help from the foundation. Due to my chemotherapy and medication I have to take I am always cold. I got behind on my gas bill and the company was threatening to turn off the gas. The foundation helped pay the bill and my gas stayed on. Now, I am warm and smiling. The foundation was God sent.

I have C.M.L Leukemia and I have to go to M.D. Anderson every 6 months for treatment. This sometimes causes me to have financial problems but the Cancer Foundation of Northeast Georgia is there for me. The foundation's financial assistance program has helped me with my lights, rent, and food. I feel like the foundation is there for me and I am thankful.
