Blooms and Blessings
TCF Board member Lisa Rawls had a vision to reach out to families facing cancer with flowers and a kind word. On February 16, 2023, The Cancer Foundation teamed up with Piedmont Athens Regional Auxiliary and volunteers to assemble and distribute over 300 arrangements of red roses to families at Piedmont Athens Regional, University Cancer & Blood Center, and St. Mary’s Hospice House.
A very special thank you goes to Manuel Vargas of Blossoms Wholesale for offering 1,000 red roses to The Cancer Foundation!
Bouquet Prep:
Date: Thursday, Feb. 15th at 12:00 PM
Location: Blossoms Wholesale Storefront at 2159 W Broad St, Athens, GA 30606
Volunteer Role: Volunteers will prepare bouquets using the in-kind donated flowers. We need approximately 10-15 on-site volunteers.
Flower Delivery:
Date: Friday, Feb 16th at 7:00 AM
Delivery Time: 8:30 AM
Volunteers Role: Facility volunteers will hand out flowers. TCF Staff and Board will coordinate delivery to facilities. Volunteers needed at facilities 2-4 distribution volunteers.
